Move over black – purple is the new hot fave for summer’s sultry smoky eye. Spotted on the catwalks at Versace, Michael Kors and Marios Schwab, this stunning new look is super easy to achieve. All you need to do is:
- Take a plum cream liner across your upper lash line and blend up to the crease of your eye. The liner works as a base for shadow to stick to according to Shu Uemera make-up artist Gina Brooke.
- Using a brush apply a lavender shadow on top, concentrating on the middle of your lid and the inner corner. ‘Press more shadow in with your finger to create an intense color,’ says Brooke.
- For added impact take the shadow under your lower lash line right to the inner corner.
Trick of the trade: keep the rest of your makeup soft with pinky lipstick and a light pink blush so you don’t distract from the dramatic purple tones.
